Patient Testimonials

“Dear Dr. Birnbaum,

Instead of a holiday card, I decided to give you a Thank You card because I am so thankful to have had you taking care of me for, what, 6 or 7 years?  You’ve helped me get my life back to a semi-normal 33 year old woman’s life!  Without you and your support, I truly don’t know where I would be in my life!  Thank you for your help, your guidance, and your faith.  Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!  All my best.”

“Please be advised that my insurance has changed.  Unfortunately, the cost of the deductible is too high and I will be unable to be seen by your office in the future.  I am deeply saddened by this and I hope that if you are ever placed in-network, that you could please notify me.  I do not think that any doctor will be as attentive as you have been to my condition.”

“I will be always grateful to you for my beautiful children. Their lives are a tribute to your work in the field of endocrinology. Keep practicing medicine and helping women.”

“I have known “Dr. B” as he is lovingly called since I was 18 and I am now 54.  Throughout the years, Michael was the only doctor who located a fibroid tumor lodged in an unusual place in my uterus.  He was persistent and in his quiet but relentless way, located this benign fibroid, the size of a grapefruit, at 18.  I had a blood count of 3, and Dr. B was amazed I was still walking around.  The years progressed, umpteen laparoscopies to assist me in my discomfort while trying to preserve my ability to conceive.  At age 26, with severe endometriosis, a chocolate cyst on an ovary, it was the end of my road, by choice, to have a biological child.  The pain, stress, of this had been more than I felt necessary to handle.  With kindness, compassion, and hearing my feelings, it was medically sound to have a complete hysterectomy at 32.  Of course pelvic pain followed and a plethora of ailments that were not in my head.  With Michael, nothing was judged. Questions and of course, finding the answer.  My mother also adopted Dr. B and it was he she would call for any ailment not relating to his specialties.  This is the profound love and respect he unassumingly fosters.  I write this because my appreciation is long overdue.  He is a man who has a unique way of hearing a woman. If Dr. B does not know an answer, he will turn on his swivel chair and proceed to research it.  Dr B notices many other things during his exhaustive exam. … a beauty mark that could be an early melanoma.  I must say with love and admiration, he is a doctor’s doctor, and as the years have past, I have finally begun to understand his humor!  It is a great honor that I am able to share this exemplary doctor with you; a man who follows what he believes is right versus complying with the status quo in medicine.  Dr. B has helped me through closing doors, opening doors, and helped maintain a quality of life as women we deserve because “it is not in our heads”. ”

“We just want to thank you for all that you’ve done for us. You have always made us feel safe in your office and that is hard to come by these days!  Everyone has been so nice.  You truly have made this experience as pleasant as possible. I am sad to be “graduating”, but we will see you soon.”

“My surgery went so well! You have the greatest techniques! No pain after the anesthesia wore off! Thank you! Thanks for explaining everything so well! Please let me know if I can do any thing in return (including the fact that you save my life)”.
